We are currently seeking two individuals who would be interested in volunteering to be on the board for the Kachemak Bay Conservation Society. Ideally, these individuals would live in the Homer, AK area. We are seeking people with an interest in helping to monitor state oil and gas leases, permits that impact conservation of natural resources and areas, as well as joining an active board that attends meetings, reads legislation, helps to write comments to provide information to the general public as well as on legislative concerns. The work that KBCS has been engaged in, can be found on our website at kbayconservation.org. We are also seeking individuals who can help with fundraising ideas and projects.
Board of Directors: Voluntary, legal governing body of a nonprofit.
The Kachemak Bay Conservation Society’s mission is to protect the environment of the Kachemak Bay region and greater Alaska by encouraging sustainable use and stewardship of natural resources through advocacy, education, information, and collaboration.
The board is comprised of individuals who are interested in sustaining our environment for future generations and serves as a watchdog to catch legislation that could impact areas now and in the future.
Diversity is important because even if we all share some common values, we all have valuable skills and education that collectively allow us to function in a way as to be effective in the task of protecting the environment for future generations.
