POSITION CONCEPT:
Responsible to the Council President for developing and leading a volunteer-driven structure that ensures the council’s financial health and sustainability. This role oversees implementation of the council’s overall finance strategy in support of its strategic plan and ensures the council maintains the fiscal capacity necessary to deliver a quality Scouting program to youth.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Keep the Executive Board informed on financial trends, challenges, achievements, and opportunities relevant to the council’s funding and overall financial health.
Board of Directors: Voluntary, legal governing body of a nonprofit.
The Mission of the Great Alaska Council, Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Our board is made up of dedicated leaders who have a love of youth development and growing our programs across our service area. They come from all walks of life and we are looking to expand that even more.
Our organization is growing and looking toward our future. We want to make sure we are thinking and including all of those who wish to grow in scouting and help us further our mission. Preparing young people to make moral and ethical decisions over their life time by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law
