Board of Directors

Family Promise Mat-Su is seeking Board members who will help lead the way to a financially stable organization that empowers families and creates powerful initiatives in the larger community.  Board member service includes defining goals, making policy decisions, raise funds, allocate resources, and represent Family Promise Mat-Su in our community during events and fundraisers.  Board members will become community connectors, bringing together friends, neighbors, businesses, faith organizations, nonprofit ageencies, local government, and many others, all with a common goal: to ensure every child in our community has a place to call home.

Briefly describe your board culture.

Our board consists of two males and 5 females of various political and religious backgrounds. Historically, our board has represented the native Alaskan, caucasian, black, hispanic, and handicapped populations. One board member has lived homelessness experience and has been a previous guest in our temporary shelter, bringing a unique insite to policy and procedure discussions.

Our Board diversity represents the diversity of the clients we serve, bringing insite to cultural differences and expectations which influence policies and procedures.
