Conservation District Officials Job Description:
Conservation District officials serve on a multi-member board that establishes and implements programs to conserve soil, water prime and locally important farmland, rangeland, woodland, wildlife, energy and other resources on privately owned and leased land in our district’s boundaries.
Duties:
- Identify local conservation needs and develop, implement and evaluate programs to address them.
- Educate and inform landowners and operators, general public and local, state, and federal legislators on conservation issues and programs.
- Supervise district funds and report on activities to the public.
- Budget district funds and report on activities to the public.
- Direct the conservation district’s operations.
- Coordinate assistance and funding from district associations, private groups, federal, state and local government.
Qualifications:
- Interest and background in developing natural resources responsibly.
- Communication skills.

Time Required:
