Mission / Core Purpose / Core Values

Anchorage Opera is a center of artistic creation, innovation and education through the presentation of opera and related events encouraging public collaboration and community engagement for the people of the State of Alaska.

Briefly describe your board culture.

Our board is friendly, but gets down to business! Our passion for the arts and culture of Anchorage is focused on the support and development of the Anchorage Opera.

Why is board diversity important to this organization?

Without multiple careers, ages, demographics, and life stages represented across our board, we are more likely to experience blind spots in our promotion and support of this legacy art form across Anchorage and all of Alaska, and potentially miss opportunities for inclusivity and outreach.
