JOB DESCRIPTION
Treasurer
Purpose: To help ensure the fiscal integrity of the organization by providing oversight of its
financial activities and ensuring the accuracy of all financial records.
The Treasurer shall:
1. Serve a two-year term.
2. Attend all Board and Association business meetings.
3. Review monthly expenditures and income of the Association.
4. Responsible for developing and implementation of accounting policy and procedures.
5. Review annually expenditures and income of the Association.
6. Sign checks for the Association as one of the authorized signers.
7. With the Finance Committee, submit a proposed budget to the Executive Committee and Board for approval prior to the beginning of the fiscal year.
8. Review system annually for maintaining financial records and makes recommendations for change to the Financial Committee for evaluation and Board approval.
9. Present financial reports to the Board.
10. Chair the Financial Committee.
11. Make recommendations to the full board for authorization of non-budgetary expenditures
with the assistance of the Finance Committee.
12. Review and recommend approval of the organization’s operating budget.

The Southcentral Alaska Association for the Education of Young Children (SCA_AEYC) promotes high-quality learning for all children, birth through age 8, by connecting practice, policy, and research. We advance a diverse, dynamic early childhood profession and support all who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children.
Our board is made up of early childhood educators from across Southcentral Alaska, as well as community members who are invested in supporting this field. The board is energetic, dedicated, and eager. This group is looking to grow the organization and support early childhood education is inovative ways. They are seeking new ideas and creative input.
A diverse board is important to SCA_AEYC because it allows us to develop and implement programs that are accessible, functional, and meaningful to the diverse population we support. A board that is diverse in a variety of ways would accuratly represent this field and allow us to be more impactful in our mission
