Board of Directors

The American Lung Association in Alaska is seeking passionate and well-connected community leaders to serve on its Local Leadership Board. This volunteer leadership role focuses on advancing the mission of the American Lung Association through fundraising, relationship building, advocacy, and community engagement.

Local Leadership Board members serve as ambassadors for the organization, helping to raise awareness, secure financial support, and strengthen the American Lung Association’s presence throughout Alaska. We are looking for individuals who can leverage their networks, influence, and leadership to help make the American Lung Association a recognized and trusted household name while ensuring critical resources are available to support our lifesaving work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an ambassador for the American Lung Association in Alaska.
  • Help identify, cultivate, and secure sponsorships, donations, and community partnerships.
  • Introduce new corporate and individual donor prospects to the organization.
  • Assist in promoting and supporting fundraising events and initiatives.
  • Increase awareness of the American Lung Association’s mission, programs, and impact.
  • Utilize personal and professional networks to expand community engagement and support.
  • Attend and actively participate in Local Leadership Board meetings and events.

Please describe any giving and/or fundraising expectations of your board members.

Our Board has a "Give/Get" suggested ask of $1,500 personal give and $3,000 in a get. A get is anything from recruiting a sponsor for events, recruiting new donors to give, or captaining a team in our annual fundraiser and supporting the team in their fundraising to this level.
