Alaska Down Syndrome Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, connecting, and advocating for individuals with Down syndrome and their families across Alaska through education, community, and peer support.
Position Summary
The Board President serves as the chief volunteer leader of the organization, providing strategic leadership, governance oversight, and support to fellow board members. The President facilitates board meetings, builds consensus, ensures the board fulfills its legal and fiduciary responsibilities, and represents the organization in the community. The President plays a key role in setting priorities, guiding policy, and fostering a strong, engaged board culture that supports the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability.

We are a group of volunteers that are dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families. We strive to provide a sense of community throughout the state of Alaska.
We need people of all talents and abilities to help us best serve the Down syndrome community.
