Our Mission

At Trajectory Youth Initiatives, we are a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to addressing critical gaps in our community for youth. We believe Anchorage’s youths need and deserve a safe space to form healthy connections, uncover their passions, and be empowered as the next generation of leaders and mentors. Our mission is to provide the guidance, mentorship, and opportunities necessary for young people to build successful educational and career trajectories.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are seeking a community-minded individual who is passionate about youth development and shares our mission.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Experience with nonprofit law and corporate governance.
• Familiarity with contracts, grant agreements, or liability issues.
• An understanding of state and federal compliance for 501(c)(3) organizations.
• Previous board experience is a plus, but not required for a candidate with a strong passion for service.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend and actively participate in quarterly board meetings.
• Provide legal interpretation and guidance to the board on matters of governance, bylaws, risk management, and strategic partnerships.
• Review organizational documents and contracts as needed.
• Serve as a passionate ambassador for Trajectory Youth Initiatives in the community.
• Contribute to the strategic planning process to help guide the organization’s future.
• Collaborate with fellow board members to ensure the fiscal health and integrity of the organization.

Time Commitment

We anticipate a commitment of approximately 3 to 5 hours per month. This includes preparation for and attendance at quarterly board meetings, as well as occasional committee work and email correspondence.
