Overview:

Hospice of Anchorage, a reputable non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care and support to individuals and their families, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join its Board of Directors.

 

Responsibilities: 

  1. Governance Oversight: Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure the organization’s mission, vision, and values are upheld.
  2. Financial Stewardship: Review and approve budgets as a board, financial reports, and fundraising initiatives to ensure financial sustainability and accountability.
  3. Policy Development: Participate in the development and review of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  4. Fundraising and Development: Actively participate in fundraising efforts, donor cultivation, and community outreach to support the organization’s financial goals.
  5. Advocacy and Public Relations: Advocate for hospice care, raise awareness about end-of-life issues, and represent the organization in public forums and with stakeholders.
  6. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans to guide the organization’s growth and impact.
  7. Board Meetings: Attend and actively participate in board meetings, committees, and special events, contributing expertise and insights to decision-making processes.
  8. Evaluation and Accountability: Monitor organizational performance, evaluate outcomes, and hold leadership accountable for achieving goals and objectives.
  9. Ethical and Legal Compliance: Ensure the organization operates ethically and in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  10. Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with fellow board members, executive leadership, staff, volunteers, and community partners to advance the mission of Hospice of Anchorage.
